Jeffrey I am really feeling sick. My temp is 100o even with two ibuprofen. Can you call in a script for Z pack and some cough medicine with codeine?

Response:

It's only because I love you that I won't treat you without a proper examination by a qualified health care practitioner any more than I do my wife or grandkids (unless I have to).

Regardless, think of having fever as a benefit. Drink plenty of fluids (esp. Chicken Soup).  For adults, Motrin 600 mg followed by taking a warm to hot bath (as tolerated).  Spend as much time as possible, reclining with your feet up and change positions with care (for dizziness).  I find OJ, VIt C, Echinacea*, Mucinex* or if congested, Mucinex D*, and getting a room humidifier helpful, as well.

Thank you so much. I saw Dr. D. S__________- He is a very nice young man. I was cultured and it is Influenza B and got an inhaler for my choking (and scary) cough - It's all ready helping and I slept a lot (probably because I could). Thank you again for all your help. You are one terrific guy.

And so, you did not need an antibiotic after all.
