Coconut Oil as Alzheimer's Remedy? - If it only were true!

According to Mary T. Newport, M.D., ketones found in coconut oil seem to slow the progression of Alzheimer's and a number of other diseases.  In select people the claim is that it may actually prevent certain diseases.  Her book: "Alzheimer's Disease: What if There Was a Cure?"  If it only were true!

Coconut oil has about 117-120 calories per tablespoons, it contains omega-6 fatty acids but no omega-3 fatty acids. Also, it has no cholesterol and no transfat as long as is non-hydrogenated.

But wait!!  There is no peer reviewed scientific evidence that coconut oil works to treat Alzheimer's. Check out the MedFriendly blog to learn more and search for coconut oil.
